Carlo Ancelotti had a simple message for his Real Madrid players after their 2024 UEFA Champions League title win.
Los Blancos secured an incredible 15th European Cup/Champions League crown as they edged out a 2-0 final win over Borussia Dortmund.
Despite not being at their best for the majority of the game at Wembley Stadium, Ancelotti’s charges dug deep late on, and got their reward in London.
Real Madrid’s reputation for producing on the big Champions League nights is infamous and they have shown that grit multiple times already this season.
The release at the final whistle was clear to see with the Real Madrid players tossing Ancelotti into the Wembley air after lifting the trophy.
Despite his persona as a cool operator, Ancelotti admitted it will be a long night of partying, before returning to Madrid tomorrow.
“It feels like a dream but it’s reality. I am really happy for sure”, he said at full time.
“I don’t know what we are going to do tonight, but for sure we are not going to sleep!”
Ancelotti and his players are set for a traditional celebration at the Cibeles fountain back in Madrid tomorrow with fans already gathering in anticipation.
The majority of his squad will then be granted a few days off before heading away on Euro 2024 and Copa America duty.
