Vinicius Junior fires Real Madrid to Champions League glory at Wembley

Real Madrid showed their trademark resilience to secure the 2024 UEFA Champions League title against Borussia Dortmund.

Los Blancos were heavily backed as pre-game favourites ahead of facing the Bundesliga side at Wembley Stadium.

However, despite their status as eternal winners of the competition, the Spanish giants struggled in the opening stages.

Early missed chances from Dortmund duo Karim Adeyemi and Niclas Fullkrug had the Real Madrid fans nervous over a potential 15th European Cup/Champions League crown.

The tide slowly began to turn after the restart and veteran defender Dani Carvajal headed home a rare goal to put them in front with 15 minutes to go in London.

With Dortmund forced to push on in the closing stages, a defensive error gifted Real Madrid the chance to wrap up the trophy, as Vinicius Junior fired home.

A goal in the final backs up Vinicius’ winner against Liverpool in 2022 with Toni Kroos bowing out as a Real Madrid legend at full time.
