Real Madrid star makes delayed arrival in London ahead of Champions League final

Earlier this week, it was reported that Andriy Lunin had come down with illness, just days before the Champions League. The Ukrainian goalkeeper, was unable to travel with his Real Madrid teammates on Thursday, and 24 hours later, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that he would not be starting against Borussia Dortmund, with Thibaut Courtois given the nod instead.

Hours before the final kicks off at Wembley Stadium, Lunin has now joined up with the rest of the Real Madrid squad, who are in their final preparations ahead of the showpiece event getting underway at 9pm CEST.

Lunin may not be starting against Dortmund, but he will take his fair share of credit if Real Madrid win their 15th title on Saturday night. He was fantastic throughout the tournament, especially in matches against Braga and RB Leipzig. He was also decisive in the penalty shoot-out victory against Manchester City in the quarter-final stage.
