One of the main aims set out by new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is for a top-level pivot to be signed this summer. Joshua Kimmich is believed to be high in the mind of the former Bayern Munich head coach, while another target to feature prominently is Everton’s Amadou Onana, who has garnered significant interest from across Europe in recent months.
Onana, who will be playing for Belgium at Euro 2024, is well-regarded within Can Barca, although there are currently no plans for a deal to take place because Everton’s asking price, believed to be €60m, is too high. However, Barcelona believe that they can significant reduce these demands in the coming weeks, say Sport.
🚨 Everton have FFP problems and need to sell their stars as soon as possible. Amadou Onana is also expected to leave, and Barça are attentive to the situation. The Catalans think the final fee could be much lower than the initial asking price of €60m. @sport

Everton, like Barcelona, have been struggling with Financial Fair Play issues in recent times, and that will remain the case going into this summer. The report states that they need to sell before the end of June, which could see them their asking price lowered as the weeks go on.
Onana would be a top signing for Barcelona, perhaps more so than Kimmich. If they can afford it, he should absolutely be targeted, although he may end up being just out of their price range.
