Hansi Flick intends to block any possible departure for Barcelona stalwart

Hansi Flick will start work as Barcelona manager after returning from holiday, following confirmation of his appointment earlier this week. He’s already started establishing his authority on transfer decisions, with the main change coming in the situation of Ronald Araujo, whose future has been under the microscope in recent months.

Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the Uruguayan defender, who could be available on the market this summer. However, Flick intends to block any deals that come Barcelona’s way, as he considers Araujo to be an indispensable player, as per Sport.

Flick has already notified Deco and the rest of the sporting department that he does not want Araujo to be sold. This should also change things in the 25-year-old’s contract situation, with negotiations over a renewal likely to be re-opened when the squad reconvenes for pre-season.

Araujo has been disappointed by a supposed lack of backing from within Barcelona over the last few months, but that looks like changing now with Flick in charge. The German coach is desperate to keep his star defender at the club, and it would be a surprise if he didn’t get what he wanted.

  1. Jajajajajaj star defender… lucky is the club who has this guy as a star defender.
Could it possibly be that they dangled him for sale but nobody wanted to buy him and now flick is trying save some face?
Last three clasicos exposed this clown as well as CL.

I laughed my ass off watching him bury mentaIona on his own both in Liga and CL.
That red card indicates serious lack of football lQ as it would have in 10 out of 10 cases been better to leave Barcola with goalie 1v1 (noone says he could guaranteed have scored) than go one player down and guaranteed lose the tie.

    PAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
