Report claims Atletico Madrid have made first move to sign 26-goal striker

Atletico Madrid are aiming to sign a new striker this summer, with the likes of Alvaro Morata, Memphis Depay and Angel Correa reportedly on the exit ramp. Girona’s Artem Dovbyk has been heavily linked in recent days, but it appears that he isn’t the only option being considered by club bosses.

According to La Voix du Nord (via MD), Atleti have already spoken to Jonathan David’s entourage, as they aim to find out whether he would be interested in a move to the Civitas Metropolitano. David is expected to be on the move in the summer, as his Lille contract expires in 2025.

However, Matteo Moretto has denied this claim, as he says that Atleti have not made a move for David, who scored 26 goals in 47 appearances during the 2023-24 season, at this current stage. Despite this, he is an option that is liked.

It remains to be seen who Atletico Madrid go for in their striker pursuit. David would be an exciting addition, but for now at least, this one is on the back-benches.
