As per L’Equipe, Griezmann’s release clause at Atleti is incredibly low – it’s not known what the exact amount is, but it is lower than €15m, which would be a steal for a player of his quality. It would mean that any interested clubs would have no problem triggering this, which would increase the chances of a sale significantly.
However, there should be no real cause for concern among the Atletico Madrid fanbase, as it would be extremely unlikely for Griezmann to agree personal terms with any clubs that do activate his release clause. His plans are simple: continue in Diego Simeone’s squad for at least another 12 months.
