Barcelona Sporting Director Deco has been in touch with the agents of Valencia gem Javi Guerra, as per the latest coming out of Catalonia. Guerra has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United in recent months.
The 21-year-old burst onto the scene last season, helping to save Los Che from relegation, and enjoyed a good start to this year too, scoring several important goals. However in the second half of the season, his form has declined.
As per MD, Deco has met with Guerra’s agents at least once, where he assured them that the Blaugrana would be able to carry off a deal. The latest is that Valencia would be asking just €20m for him, and Deco believes that after sales, and potentially by reducing the price with loanees in return, the Blaugrana are a genuine contender for his signature. New manager Hansi Flick will now have to evaluate him.

Barcelona were linked to his teammate Pepelu in midfield earlier in the season. While Guerra has a higher ceiling and can play anywhere in the middle of midfield, Pepelu certainly represents what they are missing much more accurately, at the base of midfield. Understandably, Guerra would be more of a signing for the future too.
