Barcelona do not want to sell Bayern Munich, Premier League-linked duo

Because of their well-documented financial woes, Barcelona will need to make significant sales over the coming weeks and months in order to improve their situation, especially in regards to returning to La Liga’s 1:1 rule. A major sale would help, and the likes of Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha have been touted as possible departures.

However, MD have now reported that Barcelona have four plays down as being non-transferable, with Araujo and de Jong being two of those – the others being Pedri Gonzalez and Pablo Gavi.

Araujo has been the most heavily-linked with a move away in the summer, but club bosses are keen to keep him – they also want him to sign a new contract, with his current one expiring in 2026. They are aware of interest from Bayern Munich and Chelsea, but they see the Uruguayan as being crucial in Hansi Flick’s plans.

De Jong is another whose contract expires in 2026, and although there are concerns about his situation because of the high salary he earns, Barcelona officials anticipate the Dutch midfielder being a very important player next season.

If Araujo and de Jong are to stay, Barcelona will need to consider other players to be sold. Raphinha looks a likely candidate given the value he holds, although it won’t be easy for anyone to be sold.
