Atletico Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has been the subject of growing speculation over his future in recent weeks, and it looks as if he could be on the move once again. His recent run out of the team has convinced him he would be better off elsewhere.
Morata was close to leaving the club last summer, but Diego Simeone convinced him to alter his plans. Yet after being benched in recent weeks, and hooked against Borussia Dortmund at half-time in the Champions League quarter-finals, he is once again considering a return to Italy. Cadena SER claim that Juventus remain interested in him, and have offered the chance to return to Italy, where his wife hails from.
🚨 BREAKING: Today, there will be a very important announcement from Atlético Madrid.
It’s a quite significant economic boost. A new sponsor, also strong in certain sectors, will join Riyadh Air starting next season.@edu17burgos pic.twitter.com/UVc76S7wiI

They would need to pay his €15m release clause, but if La Vecchia Signora are keen to buy him, it’s a fee that should be well within their means. If not, it seems unlikely he will not find a home elsewhere. Morata has 21 goals this season, and is Atletico’s top scorer, but a run of just three goals in 22 games in 2024 has seen his stock plummet.
