One area that Real Betis will absolutely need to address during this summer is left-back. Manuel Pellegrini’s current options are Juan Miranda and Abner Vinicius, but both are expected to leave at the end of the season – Miranda is out of contract, and Abner is likely to join Lyon.
Replacements are being considered, and according to MD, they are considering a summer move for Juan Bernat. The former Valencia star has had a difficult few years, and that has continued this season during an underwhelming loan spell at Portuguese giants Benfica.
Bernat sees his Paris Saint-Germain contract run out in 2025, and the likelihood is that Betis could be able to go for a cut-price deal, should they deem it acceptable.
Bernat isn’t the only left-back option being lined up by Real Betis. The club’s sporting department have also considered moves for Lyon’s Nicolas Tagliafico, Valentin Barco of Brighton, and also Las Palmas’ Sergi Cardona.
