Real Madrid fans told to prepare for the worst regarding Toni Kroos and Luka Modric

The iconic duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric rarely get a run out together these days, but both are highly valued by Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti, as has been seen in recent weeks. Madridistas have been told to prepare for the departure of both this summer though.

It had looked as if Kroos would pen another one-year extension with the club, but according to Cadena SER, that is no longer a given. At the start of the season it was presumed he would continue, then it was a strong possibility, and now it seems he is edging towards leaving the club. Both are set to sit down with the club, and discuss the matter this week, but both are ‘closer to leaving than staying’ as it stands.

Modric, for his part, looked as if he would definitely leave, but recent cameos in the Champions League and a start in El Clasico have led to some believing that he could change his mind on needing a starting role. Modric’s departure is assumed unless he has a change of heart too though, and he will have a face-to-face conversation with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, one of his biggest fans.

Previous reports have noted that Real Madrid will try to secure the future of one of their leaders Dani Carvajal this summer,  ahead of ‘painful exits’ that are on the way. Earlier in the season it was reported that Perez wasn’t a fan of both Kroos and Modric starting together, something that has scarcely happened since, and it seems only rational that if one continues, the chances for the other to do so are reduced.

  1. Its inevitable and happened to other goats such as CR, Pele, Di Stefano, Iker, Ramos… sooner or later the time gets the better of you.
Future is bright with Arda, Brahim, Tchoumeni, Camavinga and who knows maybe we get Wirtz too.

    1. Yeah, that is true…time waits for no one. But they’ve given us more than enough joy and the future is really bright for the Team. Wishing us good luck in Wembley .
