Real Madrid continued their dominant season in fine style on Tuesday, seeing off Alaves in emphatic fashion at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 5-0 victory ensures that Los Blancos’ unbeaten streak in La Liga is now at 30 matches – a remarkable run of form, to say the least.
Carlo Ancelotti was very pleased with his side’s showing, which included a fantastic performance from Thibaut Courtois, who made 10 saves as well as keeping a clean sheet. Ancelotti clarified the goalkeeping situation going into the final matches of the season – quotes via MD.
“The situation is clear among us. We have two games left in La Liga: Lunin will play one, and Courtois the other.”
Ancelotti also spoke on Toni Kroos. He showed no signs of concern in regards to the German’s possible exit from Real Madrid this summer, and he also commented on the topic of a possible Ballon d’Or success.
“No one is worried (about Kroos’ future). Our focus is on the Champions League final. The various parts will talk after that.
“Ballon d’Or for Kroos? I would like it, but he won’t win it. Maybe he can, anything can happen. There is the Euros this summer. He could fight for the Ballon d’Or if he wins Champions League and the Euros with Germany.”
