Vitor Roque to leave Barcelona this summer – decision taken

Barcelona forward Vitor Roque has had very little game time since arriving this January, after the Blaugrana spent €30m plus €31m in variables on the 19-year-old. Xavi Hernandez is believed to be of the opinion that Roque should leave on loan, but agent Andre Cury declared this not an option. It looks as if he will be on his way out one way or another though.

As per SER Catalunya, and carried by Diario AS, the decision has been taken for Roque to leave Barcelona this summer, be it on loan or via transfer. Sporting Director Deco, who put his transfer together, and moved the deal forward to January from this summer, has agreed with Xavi that the 19-year-old should head elsewhere.

Cury had told the Catalan press in recent weeks that Roque would not be leaving on loan, and that he would either be remaining at Barcelona and playing more, or leaving on a permanent deal. That leaves his future in some doubt. Cury and Roque are believed to be frustrated that the club brought forward his deal, only to then leave him on the bench for the most part.

Deco will propose a loan move to Cury and Roque in order for him to gain experience next season, but it remains to be seen whether they will budge on their current stance, albeit only the agent has voiced opposition to a loan.

Barcelona have already had significant interest from La Liga in a loan deal from the likes of Real Betis and Valencia, while in England, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have asked for information about Roque. Both clubs have good relations with Cury, and it is believed that they would be looking for permanent deal rather than a loan.

Roque was also registered as an emergency injury signing to replace Gavi in January, meaning his contract is still to be registered. It would save Barcelona some space in their salary limit too, however the deal does not reflect well on Barcelona’s planning thus far.

  1. Xavi is making a very big error by letting that lad leave Barca. Victor should be given more minutes on the field of play. He is a talented and ambitious player.

  2. You people garrit! The formal sporting director found this young hot boy in the beginning before DECO arrival, XAVI disturb them not to buy him then, but when GAVI got injured we have a chance to sign just only one player and XAVI opted for GIOVAN LO CELSO from TOTHENHAM, But DECO disagree and bought ROQUE for us which make sense for club like BARCELONA right now, but XAVI didn’t want it,.
Check it, only 30 minutes+ for someone like V. ROQUE, haha! It’s too bad
And that minutes was when his brother is in the stand.
Cross-check it and give me reply

  3. Guess I was right about Roque all the time and usual buffoon here was wrong.
