Barcelona President in Dubai to seek foreign investment following economic lever collapse

Barcelona are still desperately seeking the income they thought they had two summers ago. After the club sold 49.5% of Barca Vision for €200m, it allowed them to rebuild their squad with the likes of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde. Yet it continues to weigh the club down, as the non-payment of that money penalises their salary limit.

The Blaugrana are set to take German investment fund Libero to court over the €40m they were due, having sold on a cut of the original sale to Orpheus Media and Socios. That money was supposed to be arriving in the summer transfer window, but six over four months later, the Blaugrana are still waiting.

This week should have been a festive one for President Joan Laporta, but the €40m hole in their accounts has forced him into action. Spotted in Dubai, eating with a former United Arab Emirates Health and Culture Minister, MD say that he is there seeking finance or an alternative to fill the Libero-shaped hole in the Middle East. Mas Que Pelotas also confirms this news.

Laporta has always been adamant that under his reign, Barcelona will continue to be owned by their fans, but increasingly, the club has sought outside investment in order to plug the financial gaps, as they struggled to continue to compete with the nouveau riche in Europe. The economic levers are the most obvious example, but putting sponsors on their shirt is another example of the same principle. Previously, Barcelona had Unicef on their shirts, and before that, it was a blank space.

  1. “Barcelona will continue to be owned by their fans”

Do foreign banks counts as “their fans”? Is that where the deceit lies? Ceo of Goldman Sachs is closeted bribELona fan? And now he is selling it out to oil money?

I mean this is wonderful news for me, as these foreign interests arent borrowing money to them for the sake of being nice. But if I were a bribELona fan I’d be worried.

    Ahahahah🤣🫵

  2. News flash for you I’m not and i dont think other barca fans are either lol, football sadly now is more a business than a sport and if use all dont realise that by now then were the hell have use been all this time under some rock ? I would far rather an active do something about it president who tries to change and improve things than a president who just sits about on his arse all day waiting and hoping something happens or changes thats for sure and i dont think I’m in the minority here either, its laughable all these deeply concerned real madrid fans acting as if use are fc barcelonas financial advisers or bank accountants 🤣😂 please do us all a favour and mind your own business and concentrate and concern yourselves about your own club,fc barcelona arent asking real madrid or their supporters to sort their financial problems out are they ? so its actually quite comical and sad really that you are STILL so obsessed about it,and on a closing point fc barcelona arent the only football club in the world to suffer financial losses or difficulties and shock horror 😱 they wont be the last lol,but we will sort our own mess out thank you very much enough with all this outside noise crap already please 😴🤫🤭

    1. Apparently some folks are so excited about the issue that they’re making up details. The things being sold are portions of certain business offshoots of the club and not the club itself.

I even read something recently that said that the club will have to come up with money to pay interest on the sales, lol.

So yeah, I agree with you. It’s just noise.

      1. I think you mean are you AN idiot ?????????? great english there 👏 how about you go and learn to speak proper english first before you start calling other people idiots lmao. 😂🤣

          1. Awww what’s wrong did i hurt your little feelings lol 😂🤣 I’m not the one blabbing my mouth off to begin with calling people idiots so you relax buddy.

          2. Says the idiot that cant speak english right and then has the nerve and cheek to call anybody an idiot or cringeworthy 👏😂🤣👏

  3. Guys, is it just me or the cheaper barca squad is better than the expensive one? I mean adama traore and luuk de jong are better than lewandowsksi and raphinha

    1. Don’t worry it’s not just you pal,i totally agree with you 100% you see nothing was expected of big adama or big luuk they came in with no fuss or noise or drama barca fans weren’t excited or expecting much by their arrival, the media and websites like this didn’t hype them up and put extra pressure on them like they usually do lol and guess what they performed and did what they where brought in to do and then some funny how that works isn’t it 😂🤣

    2. Hence why I’ve always said give me 11 gavis or 11 araujos over these so called big money prima donnas any day of the week. 😀

  4. It is amazing how IQ evaded Barca fans. It is as if all the garbage in world are drawn to fandom.

      1. What do you mean Sam?
Trying to make sense out of your answer but if I understood you it is he has low IQ because his English is poor.
By your own judgment, you also fit into that cathegory since your own English is seriously lacking. You seem blissfully unaware of it, which makes me wonder if yours is even lower.
It seems like I wasn’t too wrong with my original post.

          1. I am not overly worried about that Sam, your schedulings that go on in your mind aren’t interesting.

What is more interesting is that I made a statement and you proved me right.

          2. The idiot didnt only manage to spell as well with a typo at the end of well, but also wrote it together, which is another error.

            Utter and complete idiot.

    1. That is right Kevin.

Més que un club – También una institución mental 🙂 🙂

These fans here on this site prove it.
