Spanish football, especially in the women’s game, has been on an upward trend in recent years, especially when considering the achievements of Barcelona Femeni. The Blaugrana have been all-conquering in Spain of late, and they have also won the Champions League twice in the last three seasons. It’s no surprise that they had nine players in Spain’s World Cup-winning squad, including the likes of Coll, Bonmati and Ballon d’Or holder Alexia Putellas.
