Real Madrid go in at half time 2-1 up at Chelsea in their Champions League quarter final first leg thanks to a virtuoso showing from Karim Benzema.
Los Blancos were out for revenge from the off in West London after the Blues knocked them out of the 2020/21 competition at the semi final stage.
However, the visitors have rolled back the years in the opening 45 minutes, with Benzema simply too much for the Chelsea defence to handle.
Brazilian starlet Vinicius Junior gave the home side an early warning, as his drive flashed against the crossbar, before he turned provider on 21 minutes with a cross superbly nodded home by Benzema.
That setback stunned Chelsea and Real Madrid took full advantage to double their lead just three minutes later.
Luka Modric’s ball into the box was inch perfect and Benzema created the perfect angle to head home and double the away side’s advantage before the half time whistle.
However, the home side did snap back into life before the interval with Kai Havertz bravely heading home Jorginho’s cross.
