Ousmane Dembele wants to have a face-to-face meeting with Joan Laporta about his Barcelona future according to a report by Diario Sport.
The Frenchman’s contract at Camp Nou expires at the end of the season and Barcelona have made it clear that they want him to either renew on reduced terms or leave this January transfer window.
But Dembele wants to do neither. He wants his contract to be honoured, creating a standoff where he’s been dropped from Barcelona’s last two squads for their clashes with Atletico Club and Deportivo Alaves.
Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, flew into Barcelona’s El Prat airport from London this afternoon for one final meeting with the powers-that-be at the club.
A good friend of Samuel Umtiti, Dembele knows how his compatriot’s meeting with Laporta last summer ironed out a lot of wrinkles in their relationship and cooled what had been a tense situation. His idea is to do something similar.
