Carlos Soler will miss Valencia’s trip to the Santiago Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid this Saturday according to a report in Marca.
Soler, Valencia’s talisman, picked up a muscular injury during Los Che’s victory over Cartagena in the third round of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening. It’s expected he’ll be out for 15 days although he has undergone medical tests today.
Soler isn’t the only absentee Jose Bordalas will have to contend with. Also missing are Hugo Duro, who’s suspended, and both Gabriel Paulista and Dmitri Foulquier, who are injured. Yunus Musah, Mouctar Diakhaby and Uros Racic are also all doubts due to knocks they picked up against Cartagena.
Valencia are ninth in La Liga going into the game, having won three out of their last five. They’re two points off the top six. Madrid are top of the table, five points clear of second-placed Sevilla having played a game more.
