WATCH: Cristiano Ronaldo scores his 800th career goal for Manchester United against Arsenal

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 800th goal of his career this evening at Old Trafford as Manchester United came from behind to beat old rivals Arsenal 3-2 in the Premier League.

Emile Smith-Rowe put Arsenal ahead in the 13th minute, before Bruno Fernandes equalised a minute before half-time. Cristiano then put United ahead in the 52nd minute, only for Martin Odegaard to get the visitors back on level terms three minutes later. Cristiano won it in the 70th minute from the spot.

The result leaves United seventh in the Premier League table, two points behind Arsenal but ten points shy of Chelsea and the top of the league. They’ve improved since the board decided to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and bring in Michael Carrick as an interim coach. German coach Ralf Rangnick will take over imminently.

Cristiano is now on 801 goals for club and country given his brace. He scored five for Sporting Club de Portugal, 101 for Juventus, 130 for United and a remarkable 450 for Real Madrid. He’s scored 115 goals for Portugal and captained them to victory at Euro 2016 and the 2019 Nations League.
