Emile Smith-Rowe put Arsenal ahead in the 13th minute, before Bruno Fernandes equalised a minute before half-time. Cristiano then put United ahead in the 52nd minute, only for Martin Odegaard to get the visitors back on level terms three minutes later. Cristiano won it in the 70th minute from the spot.
The result leaves United seventh in the Premier League table, two points behind Arsenal but ten points shy of Chelsea and the top of the league. They’ve improved since the board decided to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and bring in Michael Carrick as an interim coach. German coach Ralf Rangnick will take over imminently.
