Barcelona could get the opportunity to sign seasoned striker Edinson Cavani.
Cavani is currently at Manchester United, and it looked as though he would play a big part after a very solid season of last.
But United’s last-minute signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window put paid to that.
Since Ronaldo’s arrival, he has only started two Premier League games, though injury has also played a part.
Cavani is now 34 years of age, but he is not done yet, still wanting to play until at least the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
And according to The Time via Sport, Cavani’s wish is to play for Barcelona before the end of his career.
The report claims Cavani has asked his agent to do all they can to make a move to Barcelona happen.
Barca signed another veteran in Sergio Aguero over the course of last summer, but his future is uncertain due to a heart issue.
Signing Cavani would be a risk given his age, but for free, it might be a gamble worth taking for Barca next summer, as long as the requested wages are sensible.
