Barcelona director Eric Abidal has hinted that they club will embark on a large scale summer spending spree in 2020.
The defending La Liga champions have been linked with a host of names in recent weeks, however the former French international has indicated the Catalan giants will be busy ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Ernesto Valverde has previously indicated he is in the market for a new striker, as a long term replacement for Luis Suarez, and according to reports in Mundo Deportivo, the club are open to attacking and defensive reinforcements.
Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez has consistently been linked with a switch to the Camp Nou, and the Argentinean international is rumoured to be one of the forward targets for Abidal – alongside Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, despite the intention to replace Suarez, the club are also focused on securing defensive targets in the coming months, amid concerns over their current options at the back.
Bayern Munich full back Joshua Kimmich has been highlighted as main target, alongside Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic and RB Leipzig Lukas Klostermann and Chelsea`s Andreas Christensen.
