Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder and reported Atletico Madrid target Denis Zakaria will not move this January, claims his agent.
Last month, Diario AS cited a report in German outlet Express which claims the 22-year-old is on Atleti’s radar and claims that he would be available for transfer in the region of €40m.
Calciomercato say that Italian giants Milan are monitoring the central midfielder and are willing to meet any realistic asking price.
“Denis will not leave Borussia in the winter, a change is 100 per cent excluded,” his agent Mathieu Beda told Sport BILD, as cited by ESPN.
“Denis is in very good shape in Gladbach and has been playing really well for weeks, but he still has more potential and he wants to show that in Gladbach now instead of dealing with a change.”
The central midfielder has featured in 11 matches for the Bundesliga club this campaign and has grown into a star at Gladbach after joining from Young Boys in a €12m deal back in the summer of 2017.
Zakaria – who started his professional career at Swiss club Servette – has also grown into a star at international level with Switzerland, for whom he has won 29 caps.
Previous reports believe that a transfer away from the Bundesliga next summer could be likely.
