Real Betis midfielder Andres Guardado will join MLS side Chicago Fire next year, according to a report in Mexican outlet TUDN.
It is claimed by the media site that MLS are already in negotiations with Betis over the deal and while the Mexican international will make the decision on what club he joins, Chicago Fire are best placed to land him.
The 32-year-old has made 76 first-team appearances for Los Verdiblancos since joining from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2017.
The experienced midfielder formerly spent seven years in La Liga across stints with Deportivo La Coruna and Valencia, while he has also played for Bayer Leverkusen.
Guardado – who has won 158 caps for his nation – is now said to be open to a move to North America with his playing time in the Andalusian capital now being decreased.
The player has suffered from fitness and injury issues over the past 18 months but has avoided any serious or long-term problems.
