Juan Manuel Calderón, the cousin of Jose Antonio Reyes, has been released from hospital almost two months after his car accident.
He has been discharged after eight weeks in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville.
The report in Marca adds that Calderón, a passenger in the car driven by Reyes, has been on “advanced life support measures and a "slow" treatment due to the severity of his wounds.”
José Antonio Reyes and his cousin Jonathan Reyes, 23, both died in the crash on 1 June, travelling between their hometown of Utrera and Seville.
Reyes had 21 senior caps for Spain, scoring four goals, and had recently returned from a spell in China to play for Extremadura.
Reyes came up through the Sevilla youth academy, also playing for Arsenal, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Espanyol, Cordoba and Chinese club Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard.
The former Spain international memorably netted two goals on the final day of the season for Madrid against Real Mallorca in 2006/07 to clinch the league title ahead of Barcelona.
