Sevilla hopeful on Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla

Sevilla are hopeful of a deal to sign goalkeeper Kiko Casilla from Leeds United this summer, according to a report in Marca.

The 32-year-old only joined the English Championship club in January from Real Madrid, and went on to make 19 first-team appearances.

The experienced shot-stopper edged out the Yorkshire side’s previous number one goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell at the Yorkshire side.

The goalkeeper accumulated just 43 first-team appearances for Los Blancos after joining from Espanyol in the summer of 2015 and had not featured last season.

Casilla, who was capped once by Spain at international level in 2014, had fallen behind Thibaut Courtois and Keylor Navas in the pecking order.

He has four years to run on his deal at Elland Road but it now appears that Los Rojiblancos will attempt to sign him as they aim to move on Sergio Rico, who has returned from a loan spell at Fulham.

Casilla will provide competition to Tomas Vaclik at Sevilla while the Andalusian club have already made 10 signings this summer.
