Atletico Madrid want to sign midfielder Marko Grujic on loan from Liverpool on a permanent deal but must pay €45m, according to ESPN FC.
The 23-year-old has impressed on loan for Hertha BSC in Germany this season, making 20 appearances for the capital club.
The Serbian international joined the Reds in a €16m deal from Crvena Zvezda in the summer of 2016 but all eight of his Premier League appearances have come as a substitute.
Atleti are said to have identified the midfielder as a prime candidate to reinforce their midfield with ongoing speculation regarding the futures of Saul Niguez and Rodri.
Hertha boss Pal Dardai described Grujic as the club’s ‘best midfielder in 20 years’, the report cites, while the midfielder spent last season on loan at Cardiff City in the Championship.
