Sergi Samper ‘feels like a footballer again’ after a switch to Japanese club Vissel Kobe from Barcelona earlier this year.
The 24-year-old has made just nine appearances for the Blaugrana in four years, with a sole Copa del Rey game his only first team action this season and he had found first-team opportunities limited.
“I am happy to feel like a footballer again, to feel important again,” Samper explained in an interview with Marca.
“It is not bad trying to adapt because we have Spanish coaching staff, playing a Spanish style of football and of course Iniesta and Villa are both here.
“My dream had been to succeed at Barcelona but that was not possible, so now I must move on and look to succeed in football, but my aim is primarily to be happy.
“I would not have believed I would move to Japan but Andres convinced me and their officials came to my house, they made me feel important and to be wanted.
“I believe I have a lot to give to football still and I want to return to the very highest level, I believe I can, so let’s see.”
