Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Julian Brandt has played down reports of a summer move following links to both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
The attack-minded midfielder has been a regular for Bayer across the past six seasons, scoring 39 goals in 206 first-team appearances for the Bundesliga side.
Still aged just 22, Brandt has won 23 caps for the German senior national side including his participation in last summer’s 23-man World Cup squad.
“For me these links make me proud, but there is nothing more than that,” Brandt told Kicker, as cited by Diario AS – with both publications reporting news of interest.
Brandt was re-positioned this season by coach Peter Bosz, shifting from his natural wide position to a more central role in midfield alongside Kai Havertz.
In February, the midfielder became the first Bayer player to win the Bundesliga Player of the Month award, thus further adding to rumours that he could seek a move away from the club.
Borussia Dortmund have also been heavily linked with a move for the German international.
