Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has reemerged as a leading transfer target for Real Madrid this summer, say reports in the Spanish press.
According to El Chiringuito TV, the Serbian international is a prime target for Los Blancos this summer as they target a summer overhaul of their playing squad.
The 24-year-old was one of Europe’s hottest properties a year ago but his form has since stagnated and the subsequent drop in his transfer value is now said to be attracting Los Blancos.
“He has a five-year contract and we don’t want to sell him as he’s a great player, but in life you can never say never,” Lazio president Claudio Lotito told Rai Radio back in November.
Inter and Milan have both been linked with a move to the central midfielder, but with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos both advancing in years, he could be back on Madrid’s radar.
