Antoine Griezmann has admitted he initially struggled to adapt to Atletico Madrid: “It involved a lot of defending and a lot of running.”
The Frenchman joined Diego Simeone’s side from Real Sociedad in 2014 and has established himself as a leading star at Los Rojiblancos with 123 goals in 233 appearances.
“At first it was difficult for me to adapt to Simeone’s philosophy,” Griezmann admitted, in quotes carried by Cadena Ser.
“It involved a lot of defending, a lot of running and in the end I had to work a lot to adapt, others helped me of course.
“Godin helped me a lot along with many of my other teammates, now it has allowed to be a player who can aspire to many things.”
