Real Madrid have ‘renewed interest’ in Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling and may attempt a move next year, say Sky Sports.
The transfer window for Spanish clubs closes on 31 August and it is not believed a move is possible this week, but the European champions have identified Sterling as a long-term target.
The 23-year-old’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in June 2020 and contract renewal talks were said to have broken down earlier this summer.
The England international was influential for his nation at the World Cup in Russia following a season in which he netted 23 goals in 46 appearances for City.
