Atletico Madrid winger Vitolo could be set for up to two months on the sidelines after spraining his knee in Monday night’s draw with Valencia.
The 28-year-old replaced Thomas Lemar in the 63rd minute of the clash at the Mestalla and despite finishing the match, the extent of his injury has been revealed through later tests.
The winger was disrupted by a series of hamstring injuries last season and he has damaged the medial collateral ligament this time, which will keep him out for between one and two months.
The Spain international only joined Los Rojiblancos in January after a temporary loan spell at Las Palmas bridged his controversial move from Sevilla.
