The Argentine got off to a winning start following his summer appointment thanks to Iker Muniain’s winner in the third minute of stoppage time to see of Lega 2-1 at San Mames.
“Our team showed a good attitude and perseverance to find the winner,” Berizzo told reporters.
“This is a victory I take pride in and we deserved it because of our application and work rate, we created chances but the key aspect of our performance was persistence.
“I used to suffer at the San Mames as an opposition manager and now I want to build that atmosphere against our opponents, I want to enjoy that suffering for opponents.”
