Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has hit out at claims he personally approached Inter for a transfer as ‘a load of nonsense’.
Reports over the weekend suggested the 32-year-old had approached the Italian club citing a desire to play alongside his fellow Croatia internationals Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic and Sime Vrsaljko.
“This is the biggest ever load of nonsense,” Modric replied to Instagram account ‘futbollalreves’, which had posted the claim.
The former Tottenham midfielder had been strongly linked with a move to the Milanese giants this summer but the transfer window in Italy has now closed.
The Croatian featured as a substitute in Madrid’s opening games of the season – the European Super Cup defeat to Atletico Madrid and league victory over Getafe on Sunday.
