Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia’s contract renewal talks have stalled as speculation continues to mount over his future.
A report in Marca states that despite the attempts of both the club and the player to find a solution, nothing could be agreed and his €18m release clause still exists.
The 26-year-old has netted 25 goals in 103 appearances for the Andalusian club – including in Sunday’s Spanish Super Copa on Sunday – since joining from Getafe in a €1m deal back in 2016.
“In the next few days I will decide my future,” Sarabia is cited as saying by Fichajes.net
“What I want is to feel valued.”
Coach Pablo Machin is cited as saying: “He is among the most important players and even though he is not one of the captains, he has a lot of significance.
“He is a candidate for the national team for sure.”
Marca say La Real president Jokin Aperribay is said to be aware of growing interest in the midfielder and wants to complete the operation as soon as possible.
Carlos Vela, Sergio Canales and Xabi Prieto have all left the Basque club this summer, leaving them short in attacking position and Sarabia’s invention could provide a much-needed boost.
