Real Sociedad centre-back Hector Moreno has turned down a transfer to Major League Soccer with Chicago Fire.
The Mexico international has been on the North American club’s radar this summer, despite only signing for La Real in January from Roma in a deal worth €6m, and have made enquiries about his availability.
However, the 30-year-old is in no hurry to cross the Atlantic just yet and declared his love for the Basque club earlier this week, while Sociedad boss Asier Garitano has been happy with his form in his eight league appearances so far.
Mundo Deportivo reports that the club have rejected several offers for the Mexican, who has a buy-out clause of just €6m in a contract that expires in 2021.
Moreno joined the Txuri-urdin from Roma after just one season in Italy following his transfer from PSV, and has previous experience in Spain having featured for Espanyol between the 2011 and 2015 seasons.
