Atletico Madrid are looking to increase goalkeeper Jan Oblak’s wages and boost his buy-out clause in a bid to make him stay at the club.
According to SER, Atleti will offer to double the stopper’s wages and extend his current agreement until June 2023, whilst at the same time raising his buy-out clause to €250m, a more realistic figure in the present market.
Los Colchoneros are aware Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa has joined Chelsea for €80m and feel Oblak is worth more than the 23-year-old.
Slovenian international Oblak has been linked with a move away from the Wanda Metropolitano and Atletico have moved to deter other clubs from prising him away in similar fashion to Kepa.
Oblak arrived in the Spanish capital four years ago from Benfica for a reported €16m and in the 2015-16 season equalled the Spanish league record for goals conceded, letting in just 18 in 38 games.
