Barcelona Coach Ernesto Valverde praised the performances of the club’s young players despite a winless run in the International Champions Cup.
Saturday night’s 1-0 defeat to Milan ensured the Catalan giants ended their three-game tour without a win and having lost two matches, but the Coach was not downbeat.
“There is no doubt our performances were better than our results,” Valverde told reporters following the match.
“We had two losses and one draw but we have a lot of positives to take from the three matches themselves.
“The game against Tottenham was a draw in the end and the game before against Roma we lost, but we were playing a lot of youngsters.
“Today against Milan we dominated the game but they scored the only goal, but I liked what I saw from a number of the young players.
“Ricard Puig, Juan Miranda and other players from the B-team all impressed me against very strong opposition.
“I trust that not only will they form part of the future for Barcelona, but also part of the present.”
