Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has stated a potential summer move to Real Madrid is ‘delicate’ but that he is ‘relaxed’ with the situation.
The Belgian international goalkeeper – who won the World Cup Golden Gloves award – is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and is said to be available for €35m.
Madrid have held a long-standing interest in bolstering their goalkeeping department as Keylor Navas has held the number one jersey.
“I'm not going to comment,” Courtois told reports in Genk when quizzed over a possible return to the Spanish capital, as cited by HLN journalist Kristof Terreur.
“It's all delicate. I'm relaxed at the moment.”
A report in Sky Sports say the FA Cup winners have prioritised finding a replacement and if they do not, they would risk losing the shot-stopper on a free transfer next summer.
Courtois has two children living in Madrid following his spell with Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2014, while he has constantly been linked with a move to the European champions.
