Real Betis have announced the signing of Deportivo la Coruña centre-back Sidnei, who joins the Andalusians on a five-year contract.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has previously represented Inter, Benfica and Espanyol , with AS reporting the fee agreed with the Galicians to be around €5m.
The player was understood to be on his way to Krasnodar this week, yet a failure to agree personal terms with the Russian outfit resulted in Betis sporting director Vice-President Lorenzo Serra Ferrer stepping in to bring him to the Benito Villamarin.
The 27-year-old has been on Betis’s agenda all summer and becomes the fourth central defender in Quique Setien’s squad ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Sidnei’s arrival means Quique is now on the lookout for a wide player to complete the group before Los Beticos return to European competition in the Europa League.
