Real Madrid Head Coach Julen Lopetegui has caused a surprise by deleting his accounts on social media following his first game in charge.
The new Los Blancos boss, who took over at the Santiago Bernabeu in June following the decision to relieve him of his duties as Spain national team supremo before this summer’s World Cup, is understood to want to be totally focused on Madrid’s preparations for the new season and does not want any distractions.
A report in AS claims the 51-year-old is not a prolific poster but, as he indicated when asked about Twitter in May, insisted “I’ve got opinions” and had been known to make his feelings felt via social media.
Lopetegui is believed to have cancelled his profiles on Twitter – where he had over 140,000 followers – as well as Instagram.
