Chinese club Chongqing Dangdai Lifan will bid to buy six million bottles of wine in their attempts to land Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta, say reports in Spain.
The 33-year-old confirmed his departure from the Catalan giants at the end of the current campaign, with the Chinese Super League club appearing to be his destination.
Diario AS cite a report from El Mundo Deportivo which clarifies that the Far East club will purchase six million bottles of wine that Iniesta’s family produce in Spain as part of the package.
The three-year contract offer is also set to land the Spain international with an eye-watering annual salary of €27m, according to the report.
The club’s chairman Jiang Lizhang is familiar with Spanish football as he also owns La Liga 123 club Granada and is said to have been working on landing Iniesta for some time.
The Barca maestro has not yet confirmed his destination although he has ruled out staying in European football.
