Clarence Seedorf believes Deportivo La Coruna’s ‘great character’ can guide them to safety after Saturday’s 3-2 win at Athletic Bilbao.
Borja Valle’s winner secured a second successive victory for Depor, who closed the gap on 17th-placed Levante to five points, the Valencians having lost 3-0 to Atletico Madrid.
“I’m happy with this very important victory. We showed great character throughout the game,” the Coach said after the match.
“We played an Athletic team who gave it their all in the second half. I told the players that I don’t have grey hair, but I will if they keep going like this. I was very nervous at the end.
“I must congratulate not only those who played but also those who have had fewer opportunities so far.
“Borja Valle? He’s found room in the team lately and he’s been rewarded for his hard work and commitment.
“I’m very happy for him because professional and sincere people like him are very valuable and maybe, like him, several others will have opportunities in our games coming up.
“We saw the fans to be very happy after the match and we’re happy for them. These three points are dedicated to everyone who loves these colours.”
