Sporting CP boss Jorge Jesus has described Lionel Messi being ‘easier to defend against’ than Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.
The Lisbon-based club face Atleti this week in the Europa League quarter finals and the tactician has described the French forward as ‘a great player who plays all over the pitch’.
“It is easier to defend against Messi than against Griezmann,” Jesus is cited as saying by Marca.
“Messi’s position is more defined and he does not change his position as much as Griezmann does, he plays in a clearer zone from a defensive point of view.
“We are going up against a great player who plays all over the pitch.”
