Barcelona are reportedly still interested in Ajax and Netherlands defender Matthijs de Ligt.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca’s coaches will ‘spy on’ De Vrij during Netherlands’ upcoming friendlies against England and Portugal.
The newspaper explains the 18-year-old ‘leads a list of substitutes’ in the event Thomas Vermaelen or Yerry Mina leave Camp Nou this summer.
However, the starlet would not come cheap, given Ajax received €42m from selling Davinson Sanchez to Tottenham Hotspur in 2017.
