Winless Clarence Seedorf insists Deportivo La Coruna are still ‘alive’, despite their 2-0 defeat to Girona on Friday.
Seedorf’s wait for a victory was extended to six matches after goals from Cristhian Stuani and Juanpe defeated Depor, who fell five points adrift of safety, but the Dutchman assured his side were making steady progress under his watch.
“Two set-pieces led to them picking up all three points,” he said after the game.
“Honestly, I didn’t see a dead team. Instead, I saw a team who were alive, who had come face to face with Girona. Everything’s gone perfectly for them this season.
“We’ve spent the last few weeks forging an identity. Now we’re suffering less, our opponents reach our box less easily and we’re creating more chances.”
