Sevilla Coach Vincenzo Montella has apologised to his club’s fans after his side were thrashed 5-1 by Eibar on Saturday.
It was the second times in the Italian’s five league games in charge in which they conceded five times as his side’s hopes of European qualification suffered a blow.
“The most important thing is to say sorry to the fans,” Montella told reporters.
“It is a big week for the club and they will be there for us in our attempts to reach the Copa final, which is very important.
“It has been a tough run for the club as we have had a lot of games which are draining both physically and mentally, while we must also give credit to Eibar.
“Sergio Rico? I have no concerns, he played well despite conceding five times.”
