Vincenzo Montella’s Sevilla revolution is well under way after they brought Espanyol back down to earth with a 3-0 win at Cornella-El Prat.
Espanyol beat city rivals Barcelona 1-0 in the Copa del Rey midweek, but goals from Franco Vazquez, Pablo Sarabia and Luis Muriel – his first in two months – gave Montella his second straight win as Sevilla Coach.
“We’ve started to play like a team that know what they’re doing,” the Italian said after the game.
“It was necessary to have a game like this one. We’re becoming more competitive.
“It’s hard to recover from playing three days ago. We had a good game.”
