Atletico Madrid completed a comfortable seven-goal aggregate victory over third-tier Lleida to ease into the Copa Del Rey quarter finals.
At a half-empty Wanda Metropolitano stadium, the hosts were frustrated in the first half as Lucas Hernandez smashed the post before Diego Costa was denied one-on-one with the visiting keeper.
However, the former Chelsea helped break the deadlock by teeing up Yannick Carrasco for the opening goal in the 57th minute before Kevin Gameiro and new signing Vitolo completed the scoring late on.
It completed three wins in the space of a week for Diego Simeone’s side in which they have scored nine goals and kept three clean sweeps, and they join Valencia in the competition’s last eight.
